Gioia in IN

Gioia [aka Jazzy] is a passive and wonderful pet. Very submissive, and wonderful for a family. She is now about three years old, so is young enough for a great family. She knows hand signals and voice commands and is very responsive. She loves to run and play, and will fetch balls. She is very socialized, and loves children and other dogs. Cats are also welcome, but she does hope that they will play with her, as well. Water is a new thing for her, as she is not around it much, but is fascinated by it when I do let her get into a pond or the river. She loves playtime with other dogs, is great with my cat and loves kids, so would be welcome in any home. She can be skittish around loud noises, balloons and other startling things, but has never shown fear aggression at all. She is learning to bark while in her home and yard when people approach, but that is a new thing. She is mostly silent, and I had to teach her hand signals and voice commands to bark in order to get her to learn. This dog is spayed and up to date on shots

Kahlua in FL

Kahlua is a one year old neutered male dutch shepherd mix. I took him in for a friend who had just had a baby and moved into a new apartment. Due to his separation anxiety, he could no longer stay in the apartment. I cannot keep him since I already have so many other rescue animals, mostly cats (8 indoor, 2 outdoor barn cats), which he does not do so well around. He still has a lot of puppy attitude in him, and just wants to play with everyone and everything. Unfortunately that means chasing horses around our property is fun for him, which could easily get him injured or killed. I have been working on his separation anxiety and horse chasing issues, and he seems to be getting better and better each day. Kahlua would be perfect in a house with no cats. He is housetrained, and I have his crate that can go with him, although it would be best to use it as little as possible. I believe before I got him, the crate was used as punishment, so he gets extremely nervous in it. He gets along well with all the other dogs here. When he’s around other dogs, he almost seems like a kid who is trying very hard to make friends, but does not know how to. He may not have been socialized so well around them before I got him. During the first days that I had him, he seemed to have some food aggression toward the other dogs, but since then he has not shown that. He is in perfect health and up to date on all vaccinations.

Chimera in AZ

Chimera is 6 years old and spayed, current on all vaccinations, crate trained and will go in her crate on her own to relax, and is microchipped. . Chimera loves to chase horses and ATVs, play with male dogs, go hiking, run behind the Jeep when 4 wheeling, chase prairie dogs, and get into fights. She is an alpha female and can tolerate a submissive female but I would recommend a home with a male dog who can play rough. She is very calm in public and can be taken anywhere. She walks very well on a leash and does not pull. She is not a barker; if she barks then there is a very good reason for it. Chimera is VERY ACTIVE but not a good working candidate as she cannot focus on obedience, tracking, etc for long/doesn't enjoy it. She cannot go to a home where she will be left in the backyard every day or only taken out for an activity once a week. She needs to be entertained every single day or she will be bored and mopey. She might enjoy agility but once or twice a week at an agility club would not be enough. She is very sweet and friendly towards everyone. She can wait patiently tied to a pole while you run inside to shop or can wait in the car. Loves to swim, very easy to groom. She has no known health problems. I would prefer her to go to a cooler climate because I know how much she enjoys being outside but hates the heat of Phoenix.

Jamie In MI

She is available from Orphan Animals of Bay City, Michigan.

Jamie is a dear that got off to a bad start in life. She has four good legs but only three feet. Whether she was born that way or whether she had an unfortunate accident is impossible to tell. Whatever the case, she has adapted very well and gets around almost as well as if she had four good paws. At her current foster home she plays with a German Shepherd of similar size and when they race around the yard she holds her own and only loses a little on the corners. We are unsure of Jamie’s age but her beautiful white teeth indicate that she is not much over two. She was taken into an animal shelter in Sandusky, Michigan and was found there by a shepherd rescuer. Jamie loves people and has bonded quickly in her foster home. She is good with other dogs but may not be good with small dogs or cats. She has not been tested with children. Jamie is very energetic and despite her missing foot can spend a lot of time exercising. She is not destructive but when she is bored she is likely to chew things that weren’t meant for her to chew. (in Flint, MI) If this cell phone does not answer, please call back. Messages are not received.
